Five horses sold at annual Keeneland yearling auction to compete at Belmont Stakes

Five horses sold at Keeneland’s September yearling auction will be competing in this year’s Belmont Stakes race.
The Belmont is one of three races that make up the Triple Crown, which also includes the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.
Half of the race’s ten-horse field trace their roots to Keeneland’s yearly sale. They include Antiquarian, Dornoch, Honor Marie, Mindframe and Protective.
Mystik Dan, who won the Kentucky Derby in a photo finish, will also be competing.
Graduates of Keeneland sales have had much success at the Belmont Stakes. That includes Mo Donegal and Arcangelo, the respective winners of the 2022 and 2023 races.
The Belmont is scheduled for Saturday at 6:41 p.m.
