Lexington police are continuing their investigation into an early Friday fatal shooting incident that injured several others.
One person, 31-year-old Antoine Clay, died as a result of the shooting in the 700 block of National Avenue. Five others were injured in the shooting and hospitalized. They sustained reported non-life-threatening injuries.
A subsequent news release from police said the safety of the community remains the department’s foremost priority. It stated the preliminary investigation suggests there is no ongoing threat to the public related to the homicide and shooting just after midnight at El Cid restaurant.
Residents and businesses in the area are being asked to check surveillance camera footage and contact police if they have footage that might help in the investigation. No suspect information was available.
