What’s billed as the world’s most important Thoroughbred auction gets underway Monday in Lexington. It’s the annual September Yearling Sale at Keeneland.
Just over 44 hundred horses, including yearlings from top sires and many related to top racehorses in 2024 are cataloged. The fall event at the historic track is known to draw an international crowd. The sale caters to buyers at various levels and price points.
Keeneland has made enhancements to the sales pavilion including upgraded seating for expanded viewing of horses up for bid. Online and phone bidding will once again be available.
Due to the ongoing construction project, some alterations in parking will be in place. The September Yearling sale with 12 sessions runs through the 21st.
