Darwin Lecture Feb. 20 at UK will focus on birth of American paleontology

The director of the Orton Geological Museum in Columbus, Ohio, will deliver the annual Darwin Lecture at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

Loren Babcock, professor of earth science at The Ohio State University, will deliver a lecture entitled “Thomas Jefferson’s Great Claw and the Birth of American Paleontology.”

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Mining and Mineral Resources Building.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Free parking is available at nearby UK parking structures.
