Winchester Road Homicide Investigation Arrest

UPDATE: FEB. 24, 2025: One person has been arrested in connection with the January 16, 2025, shooting death of Helen Taylor.
Crista Moreno, 35, was arrested for Murder on February 24, 2025, in Louisville, KY, by the Louisville Metro Police Department. She is currently being held at the Louisville Community Correctional Center awaiting extradition to Fayette County.
The Lexington Police Department would like to thank the Louisville Metro Police Department and the US Marshals Service for their assistance in helping locate and arrest Crista Moreno.

JAN. 31, 2025: A suspect has been identified in the January 16, 2025, shooting death of Helen Taylor
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, around 11:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Winchester Road for unknown trouble. When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive female victim. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that the victim had been shot. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Helen Taylor, 27.
During the investigation, detectives were able to identify Crista Moreno, 34, as the suspect. She has an active warrant for Murder in connection with the homicide. Moreno also goes by the name Spoox.
Moreno was one of Bluegrass Crime Stoppers Most Wanted Person of the Week on January 15, 2025.

JAN. 16, 2025: The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 1100 block of Winchester Road.
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, around 11:19 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Winchester Road for unknown trouble. When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive female victim. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office. During the investigation, it was determined that the victim had been shot.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the decedent.
