Art on the Town starts new season at Tandy Park

Art on the Town at Tandy Park is back for another season, showcasing the talented and creative work of local artists. The unique outdoor art market kicks off from 5 – 9 p.m. this Friday, and will continue every third Friday of the month through September at Tandy Park, 251 W. Main St.
“Lexington has amazing local artists whose creativity spurs new ideas, entertainment, and conversation,” Mayor Linda Gorton said. “I’m so excited that Art on the Town at Tandy Park is back for another season.”
Each third Friday event will feature 15 or more local artists selling and demonstrating a variety of work, including painting, fiber arts, photography, comic and graphic book art, LEGO creations, wood turnings, and more. In addition, live music will be performed in the Fifth Third Pavilion, and local food vendors will offer a variety of food and beverage options.
“It is very exciting to kick off the third season of Art on the Town at Tandy Park,” said Heather Lyons, Lexington Arts and Cultural Affairs Director. “This event showcases a rich variety of visual, performing, and culinary arts, and each month brings something new.
The May event, a ‘must stop’ on the LexArts Hop, features local artists, live Latin American music, African drumming, and African cuisine.” Art on the Town at Tandy Park is an official LexArts HOP site for four of its five event dates, connecting even more closely with Lexington’s thriving art scene.
