The Kentucky Composting Conference returns Oct. 9 – 10 for two full days of networking, learning and innovation in composting. Held at the University of Kentucky’s E.S. Good Barn, farmers, environmental advocates, educators, businesses and policymakers will gather to advance composting practices and sustainability efforts across the Commonwealth. The conference is sponsored by Lexington’s Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works and Smith Creek.
This year’s conference features keynote speaker Dr. Robert Rynk, a national expert on composting. Attendees will enjoy interactive workshops, panel discussions and tracks on backyard and community composting as well as commercial and institutional models. Attendees will also have the opportunity for hands-on sessions on topics such as compost facility design, soil health, edible gardens and regulatory updates.
