The City of Lexington is again awarding capital project grants to nonprofit agencies, Mayor Linda Gorton announced today.

“The City’s nonprofit capital grants provide critical resources to local agencies doing great work in our community,” Gorton said. “In many cases, traditional grants available to nonprofits grants do not allow for capital expenditures. That is why we felt it was important to create opportunities for these organizations to access funding for their capital needs.”

The one-time grants will provide a total of $604,377 to 13 organizations to support facility improvements and operational investments. The funding comes from local tax revenue.

In total, the agencies will receive funding for 24 projects. To qualify, nonprofits must be located in Fayette County, and serve local residents.
