City crews are working alongside contractors clearing roads per the City’s snow plan. Additional contractor help has been engaged for ADA ramps, crosswalk clearing, and hauling. As snow continues to fall, residents should stay off the roads and only travel for emergencies. If you must travel, bring food, water, a flashlight, warm clothes, and extra blankets. Also, drive cautiously and allow extra time to reach your destination.
Mayor Gorton has declared a State of Emergency, fully activating the city’s Emergency Operations Center and placing public safety divisions on 24-hour schedules through Tuesday morning. The snow emergency declaration bans parking on snow emergency routes. These routes are major streets through the city and are marked by signage. Residents are urged not to park along streets and major roads to allow crews to clear routes effectively.
