The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky‘s next “Health for a Change” webinar is titled “The Role of Place in Community Health.” It will be Thursday, March 19, at 11 a.m. E.T. Click here to register.
The webinar will dive into how the characteristics of a neighborhood contribute to the health of its residents and dig into research led by the University of Louisville and Simmons College of Kentucky that looked for ways to improve health at the neighborhood level. It will also offer a deeper understanding of how transforming places can transform health.
The speakers at the event will be:
- Nancy Seay, dean of the School of Arts Sciences and chair of the James R. L. Diggs Department of Sociology, Simmons College of Kentucky
- Ted Smith, professor of medicine and director of the Center for Healthy Air, Water and Soil, Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute, University of Louisville School of Medicine
