Lexington Recycle Center temporarily shut down

A wide, overhead shot of the Lexington Recycle Center. There are lots of conveyer belts with recycling on them and people in the background.

Due to an equipment failure, the Lexington Recycle Center will be shut down on Friday, March 27 and Monday, March 30. The piece needed to repair the equipment is expected to be delivered and installed in time for recycling collection on Tuesday, March 31.

If you have Friday or Monday curbside waste collection, please do not put your blue recycle cart out on March 27 or 30 if possible. Recyclables set on the curb may have to be landfilled since there is no storage space at the Lexington Recycle Center.

Recycling collection is expected to return to normal by Tuesday, March 31. If the schedule changes, there will be an update given.
