Overnight Lane and Ramp Closure Scheduled for New Circle Road (KY 4) in Lexington Wednesday, Oct. 8

Expect delays on New Circle Road westbound between 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2025)  Construction for the New Circle Road (KY 4) Widening project in Lexington will require temporary overnight lane and ramp closures on New Circle Road westbound (outer loop) on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The closures are necessary to shift New Circle traffic over onto the newly constructed portion of the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge so work can take place on the opposite side as the project moves from Phase 1 into Phase 2 construction.

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., contractors will partially close New Circle Road from just before Newtown Pike to Leestown Road (mile markers 9.4-7.4), with the far-left outer lane remaining open to traffic. At the same, the ramp from Georgetown Road to New Circle Road westbound will also close. Drivers can take Citation Boulevard to Leestown Road (KY 421) as a detour. All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m. Thursday morning, Oct. 9.
