Stronger Together: Central Kentucky communities launch regional climate action plan

A little girl mulching around a tree.

Six communities in Central Kentucky are working together to protect the environment and build a better future. This effort has resulted in the Central Kentucky Climate Action Plan that covers Bourbon, Clark, Jessamine, Fayette, Scott and Woodford counties, which make up the Lexington-Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area.

This regional roadmap offers a set of strategies to help our communities grow in ways that are healthy for people and the planet. It was shaped by input from residents, technical experts and community leaders. Actions are tailored to the needs of each county.

Community outreach was a key part of creating the plan, and we want to keep the conversation going. A public comment period will be open from Aug. 8 to 22. We invite residents of the included counties to view the report and share their thoughts.

Join us for an online listening session on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to learn more and ask questions. Register for the meeting.
