Streets & Roads and Water Quality crews continue to treat neighborhood roads that are included in the snow plan. Several crews from the day shift will stay on until 8 p.m. to treat any problem areas, while the night crew will report and handle all calls as needed until 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Although precipitation ended early on Tuesday, roads may refreeze and black ice could form once temperatures drop. Motorists are advised to use caution as there could be slick spots, especially on bridges, overpasses and other untreated surfaces.
Between and 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the Lexington Police Department responded to five injury collisions, 13 non-injury collisions, 16 traffic hazards and 20 motorist assists.
The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Emergency Weather Plan remains in effect through Friday, Dec. 5. The plan includes expanded shelter services and free transportation to shelters. The Emergency Weather Plan and a list of shelters are available at lexingtonky.gov/homelessness-prevention-and-intervention.
