In partnership with the University of Kentucky HealthCare Pharmacy Services team, Kentucky Voices for Health is offering a free vaccine clinic on Tuesday, Dec. 9, in Lexington.
The clinic is open to everyone ages 5 and up, with a reminder that minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. No insurance is required.
The vaccine clinic will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Lexington, 401 W. High St. It will offer the flu, Covid, Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), shingles and RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) vaccines.
The clinic is being offered on the same day as KVH’s annual conference, but anyone is welcome to come to attend and receive their vaccines.
“Vaccination is particularly important to protect the people in your life who are at higher risk of developing serious flu complications (including pregnant people and young children) during the busy holiday season,” according to the release.
The clinic follows National Influenza Vaccination Week, which is the first full week of December, reminding everyone 6 months and older that it’s not too late to get vaccinated against flu.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported on Dec. 4 that seasonal flu and RSV cases are increasing in the state. In October and November, DPH reports that three Kentuckians have died from the flu, 21 have died from Covid-19 and 1 has died from RSV.
