Mayor Gorton joined Lextran General Manager Fred Combs and community partners today to officially launch LexRide, a new downtown ride service designed to connect some of Lexington’s most popular downtown destinations.
To celebrate the launch, Mayor Gorton announced a special promotion: LexRide will be free for the opening weekend of the service, April 2, 3 and 4.
“We’ve worked hard to build and maintain a thriving downtown area,” Gorton said. “A lot of our progress is thanks to strong partnerships. LexRide is a new partnership that will provide the perfect opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy our downtown.”
“LexRide is a great example of what strong community partnerships can accomplish,” Fred Combs, General Manager of Lextran, said. “By working together, we’re able to create a service that makes it easier for people to experience downtown, while continuing to strengthen mobility across Lexington.”
