The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky‘s next “Health for a Change” webinar is titled “Understanding Genetic Counseling in Cancer Care.” It will be Wednesday, April 22, at 1 p.m. E.T.  Click here to register.

Genetic counseling plays an important role in identifying cancer risk and helping patients and families make informed decisions about their care.

The webinar will explore what genetic counselors do, when someone should consider genetic testing and how community-based professionals and healthcare providers can talk about these services in clear, supportive ways.

Using real-world case examples, the webinar will highlight the value of genetic counseling in oncology, including ethical considerations and common misconceptions. The goal is for participants to leave with practical tools to help connect individuals and families across Kentucky to appropriate genetic counseling resources.
