Early voting in Lexington set to begin

Lexingtonians can vote can vote early without an excuse from Thursday until Saturday.
In Fayette County, all six branches of the Lexington Public Library will be running early voting stations from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Unlike polling stations on Election Day, voters are able to cast their ballot at any location in the city. The Fayette County Clerk’s office says they expect record turnout.
Deputy Fayette County Clerk Meredith Wilson asks voters to be patient while they’re waiting to cast their ballot.
“Be kind to your election officers,” Wilson siad. “They’re there for a very long day, and we look forward to having everybody out. It’s quite an event that we put on every year, and it’s a part of your rights as a citizen.”
All voters must bring a valid ID with them to the ballot box. The city of Lexington says the fastest and easiest way to confirm your identity is a driver’s license.
