LEXINGTON, Ky.—A 22-year-old Lexington man pled guilty Friday to distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine across three separate Kentucky counties, along with firearms offenses, according to a federal plea agreement.
Jay’von M. Guy was initially indicted in October 2024 following an extensive investigation by Kentucky State Police and the ATF. Under the plea deal filed in the Eastern District of Kentucky, Guy admitted to nine counts involving substantial quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and fluorofentanyl.
Court documents detail several drug sales orchestrated by Guy in October 2023. On October 6, he met a confidential informant at a Rural King store in Clark County, selling 403.5 grams of methamphetamine. Subsequent sales in the same county included methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, and fluorofentanyl totaling over 340 grams.
On October 26, Guy sold nearly 55 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm at a Walmart in Fayette County, acknowledging that he knew the buyer was a convicted felon.
Further controlled buys by undercover detectives occurred in Powell County in March 2024, concluding with Guy’s arrest on March 21. During his apprehension at a Stanton gas station, he attempted to evade arrest by striking a law enforcement vehicle. Officers seized additional methamphetamine and fentanyl at the scene.
Federal sentencing guidelines suggest Guy could face a prison term ranging from 10 years to life for the most severe offenses, accompanied by hefty fines and supervised release terms. The government agreed to dismiss one count from the superseding indictment and the original indictment as part of the plea agreement. Guy also consented to asset forfeiture and full financial disclosure.
Guy does not yet have a sentencing date.
