Roadway resurfacing scheduled the Bluegrass Parkway/KY 9002


Anderson and Mercer Counties

LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 1, 2025)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled roadway resurfacing for the Bluegrass Parkway/KY 9002. Milling work will begin first. Milling is the process of removing the existing asphalt surface. Resurfacing (adding a new top layer of asphalt) will start once milling has been completed. Lane closures will be in effect and motorists can pass through the work zones. The traveling public should expect delays.

Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 87 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily

The Bluegrass Parkway/KY 9002East and Westbound

  • the project limits will be between milepoints 52.063 – 56.287
  • the location begins East of the Alford Road Bridge and extends West past the Mercer/Anderson County line
  • speed limit changes will be in place — motorists should remain aware

Schedule:

  • Monday, August 4 through Tuesday August 5 – milling will be in effect
  • Wednesday, August 6 through Friday, August 8 – paving will be in effect

All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
