Mayor Linda Gorton today joined Chester Grundy and Eli Uttal-Veroff at the Kentucky Theatre to preview Equinox Jazz Fest, part of the city’s year-long celebration of its 250th anniversary.
Equinox Jazz Fest is set to take place September 17-21.
“The First Annual Equinox Jazz Fest is a great addition to the celebration our 250th anniversary,” Mayor Linda Gorton said today. “These performances are sure to shine a light on the people, places, and, of course, the music that makes jazz so entertaining.”
Origins Jazz Series is excited to present Equinox Jazz Fest, a five-day celebration honoring both the rich heritage of jazz and its boundless future. Grundy, Uttal-Veroff, and Richard Young are co-founders of Origins, a non-profit music series focused on lifting up Lexington’s jazz scene.
