The Corridors Enhancement Match Grant Program supports neighborhoods and community-based groups who want to improve Lexington’s corridors, or roadways, by enhancing the experience of those who utilize them. The grant program opened on Sept. 2, and is accepting applications through Oct. 10, 2025.
The Corridors Commission, which oversees the grant program, encourages projects such as beautification, litter awareness and clean-ups, and repairs of dilapidated neighborhood features. This is an opportunity to enhance a well-traveled roadway in the city and improve your neighborhood’s entrance.
There are 32 eligible corridors, and grant proposals must be for project locations that are on or directly adjacent to a corridor. Applications should be for improvements on publicly-owned property or common area community-owned properties that benefit the whole corridor. Consider the following activities for your grant proposal:
“This grant provides an opportunity for our residents to take pride in their communities and work together to enhance and beautify neighborhoods and City corridors. By lowering the financial burden of these projects, more groups can get involved and more widespread improvements will be seen throughout our community,” said Councilmember Whitney Elliott Baxter, Chair of the Commission. The program does not require a match for requests of $3,500 or less. For any requests over $3,500, a dollar for dollar match is required for the amount above $3,500.
