Victoria Way shooting upgraded to a homicide

The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday evening on Victoria Way, according to a department press release.
Around 7:48 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, officers responded to the 4000 block of Victoria Way for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located a 34-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The coroner has identified the victim as 34-year-old Kendall Berry.
Detectives are asking residents in the area to please check their home surveillance video and contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any footage that could help in the investigation.
There have been at least 68 shootings so far this year in Lexington and at least 13 open murder investigations.
