Tragic new details released in Victoria Way homicide

Lexington, Ky. — According to a report by Fox 56’s Kristen Pflum, a July 27 murder at an apartment complex adjacent to Whole Foods was especially disturbing because it occurred in broad daylight, in front of two children.

The Lexington Police Department’s original release to the public on the murder does not contain these details. It only says:
The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Wednesday evening on Victoria Way.
At 7:48 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2022, officers responded to the 4000 block of Victoria Way for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located a 34-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The victim’s name will be released by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
Detectives are asking residents in the area to please check their home surveillance video and contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any footage that could help in the investigation.
