Crime Stoppers detective catches DUI on I-64

The Lexington Police Department is reporting that Bluegrass Crime Stoppers coordinator, Detective Anthony Delimpo, was arrested on August 23, 2022 by the Lexington Police Department and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Detective Delimpo was observed in his personal vehicle on the side of westbound I-64 when he was approached by officers. During the course of the investigation, officers determined that Delimpo was under the influence of alcohol.
Effective Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Detective Delimpo was relieved of sworn duties and transferred to an administrative assignment in accordance with department policy while the incident is under review.
Delimpo frequently appears on Fox56 to promote the Crime Stoppers program. No word on whether a Crime Stoppers tip led to his own arrest.
