LPD investigating four new shootings, one classified as mass shooting; nine total shot overnight

Sunday Morning update, from WKYT:
Early Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to a victim suffering from gunshot wounds at about 12:45 AM at the 500 block of West 6th Street. Officers located a male victim with non-life-injuries.
At around 2:30 AM on Sunday morning, officers responded to the 2000 block of Richmond Road, where they found two male adults suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE from LPD, 1AM:
The Lexington Police Department is investigating two shootings that occurred on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
Around 8:26 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a vehicle on New Circle Road. The officer located several victims that has been shot. The victims were transported to a local hospital. Three victims have reported non-life threatening injuries and one is in critical condition. During the investigation, detectives learned that the shooting took place in the area of Georgetown Road and Parallel Road.
At 10:44 p.m., officers responded to the area of Short Street and Mill Street for a shooting. When officers arrived, they located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital. One victim is in critical condition and one has non-life threatening injuries.
The first incident has four victims, so it meets the FBI’s definition of a mass shooting. It is Lexington’s fourth mass shooting of the year.

We’ll have more updates as they become available. Another post shows a man being loaded into an ambulance and many emergency vehicles on the scene.
