Gorton received $36,604.20 in out of town contributions for 2022 General Election
According to records from the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance, Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton has received at least $36,604.20 in campaign contributions from individuals and groups outside of Lexington for the 2022 general election. Her average donation amount from named donors is $610.
Gorton, a Republican, faces David Kloiber, a Democrat, in Lexington’s nonpartisan Mayoral race. Kloiber, who is self-funding his campaign, says he is less susceptible to donor influence. Gorton says her individual donations show she has connections to the community and Kloiber wants to “buy” his way into the Mayor’s office. What do you think?
