LFUCG employees express discontent with compensation study
Lexington, KY–Several Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government employees expressed their discontent with a recent external study at Thursday’s Urban County Council meeting. The study addressed compensation among local government employees. While the study recommended increases in pay grade for some employees, many of those who provided public comment on Thursday said the raises associated with those bumps in pay were not sufficient.
One commenter even questioned whether the raises associated with the grade increases complied with a local ordinance, which established guidelines for salary increases. They said that City HR told them the study was conducted by an external entity and therefore did not fall under the guidelines set forth in the ordinance.
