Woodford Reserve employees seek to unionize
Versailles, KY–According to Teamsters Local 651, employees at bourbon distillery Woodford Reserve have filed for a union election. WKYT’s Jeremy Tombs tweeted on Monday that Local 651 President James Brant said Woodford Reserves’s workers “are the lowest paid among the bourbon industry in the bluegrass region. So they’re organizing in search of better pay, healthcare and job security.”
The employees are seeking better pay, healthcare and job security, according to Brant. The Woodford Reserve employees began organizing in February 2022.
Woodford Reserve’s parent company, Brown-Forman, didn’t respond to a request for comment.
