“You’re a n— b—”; UK Karen jailed after racist assault. And it’s all on video.

Lexington, KY–University of Kentucky student Sophia Rosing was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, simple assault, and assaulting a peace officer this morning.

According to a Kentucky Kernel report, Rosing was attempting to enter Boyd Hall in the wee hours of Sunday morning, but the clerk on duty, Kylah Spring, did not recognize her as a resident. When Rosing entered the lobby, Spring recognized that Rosing was very intoxicated and asked her to wait in the lobby, in accordance with University housing policies.

At this point, Rosing became disorderly. A video shows her physically striking Spring and calling her racial slurs and other profanities. Video of the incident was posted numerous places online after it was removed from Spring’s personal Instagram.

According to UK, Rosing is a Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles major.
