LFUCG to hold public hearing on housing and community development needs

Lexington, Ky.–The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government will hold a public hearing to obtain citizen comments on housing and community development needs. Public comments will inform the development of the Consolidated Plan for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 2023.
The Hearing will be held Monday, December 5th at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 2nd Floor, 200 E. Main St. Lexington, KY 40507. To add the event to your Outlook calendar, click here.
According to LFUCG, “The functions of the Consolidated Plan are:
- To serve as a planning document for LFUCG which builds on a participatory process with individuals and community organizations;
- To serve as an application for federal funds under HUD’s formula grant programs which include the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program;
- To serve as a strategy to be followed in carrying out HUD programs; and,
- To serve as an action plan that provides a basis for assessing performance.
