Justin’s House of Bourbon closed Thursday after bottles seized in state ABC raid – store reopened Saturday

Update: The store reopened on Saturday, according to a Facebook post.

Lexington, Ky–Justin’s House of Bourbon was closed Thursday after being raided by Kentucky Alcoholic Beverage Control on Tuesday, January 17.
According to popular bourbon blogger Fred Minnick, agents seized “undisclosed amounts of bourbon” from the upscale bourbon outlet located at the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets in Lexington. The store’s Louisville location was also raided.
A state official said the Kentucky ABC received complaints alleging several violations associated with Justins’ House of Bourbon for the improper acquisition, possession, transport, and sale of bourbon, including Vintage Distilled Spirits.

A spokesperson for the Kentucky Public Protection Cabinet told Minnick they routinely inspect stores for violations and that both stores still have active liquor licenses.
“At this moment all I will say at the moment is our license is active and we will be in business. We won’t have anymore comment until the investigation process is complete,” Justin Thompson, the business’s namesake and co-owner told the Herald Leader. Thompson is also a co-owner of Belle’s Cocktail House.
