Arrest Made in Three Sexual Assault Cold Cases in Lexington
The Lexington Police Department has arrested a man in connection with three cold case sexual assaults dating back to 2009.
George Wayne Aldridge, 52, was arrested Friday and charged in the cases. He is currently lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center.
Between 2009 and 2016, the victims reported to Lexington Police that they were abducted before being sexually assaulted. LPD detectives used DNA technology to identify the suspect.
Aldridge is facing the following charges:
- Kidnapping x 3
- 1st degree Rape x 2
- 1st degree Sexual Abuse x 2
- 1st degree Sodomy x 2
- 1st degree Wanton Endangerment
