Lexington, Ky.–A fire that broke out on Lindy Lane Sunday has left three people homeless. Two people and six pets were reportedly inside the house when the fire started.
Elizabeth Short, one of the occupants of the house, suffered severe burns and had to be taken to Cincinnati hospital for treatment. Her son, Xavier Short, is seeking treatment locally.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and authorities are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, a GoFundMe campaign has been started to help the family during this difficult time. The campaign seeks to raise funds to assist the family in covering their immediate needs, including housing, clothing, and other essentials.
The GoFundMe campaign, titled “Howard, Elizabeth, and Xavier Short House Fire,” has been set up by a family member and has already received significant support from the local community. Those who wish to contribute to the campaign can visit the GoFundMe page and make a donation.
