Legalized sports wagering is anticipated to be available this year in Kentucky. Another part of the sports betting puzzle has been announced.

Caesars Sportsbook, a sports wagering platform, is joining up with Keeneland and the Red Mile racetracks. The agreements call for opening Central Kentucky’s only brick-and-mortar retail sportsbook locations. That’s subject to regulatory approvals from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.

Keeneland President Shannon Arvin said, “Keeneland’s venture with Caesars Sportsbook holds exciting potential and furthers our mission to introduce new audiences to horse racing.” Plans call for Caesars to operate an on-premise retail sportsbook at Red Mile.

Keeneland Spokeswoman Amy Gregory says there has not been a determination made about a sports book at the historic track. Gregory says, based on Racing Commission approval, the aim is to launch operations later this year.
