The state Attorney General’s office is indicting Owsley County Clerk Shanna Oliver for tampering with public records.

The indictment alleges that Oliver refused to deliver public records in her possession to the Kentucky Department of Vehicle Registration for examination, and also failed to send paperwork related to the purchase of a trailer.

She was indicted in Franklin Circuit Court on one count of tampering, which the state classifies as a felony. She’s also indicted on one count of official misconduct in the second degree, which is classified as a misdemeanor.

A representative from the Attorney General’s office was unable to comment as the issue is ongoing.
