Tech Association of the Bluegrass Presentation

Also in Tuesday’s Budget, Finance, and Economic Development Committee meeting, the Tech Association of the Bluegrass (TAB) will present an overview of the tech industry in Lexington.

TAB argues that Lexington, while once a tech industry hub with large employers like IBM and Lexmark, needs more investment in tech work to rebound the industry. Currently, tech industry jobs make up 4% of jobs in the Lexington-Bluegrass region

The presentation does not make a specific ask for funding from Council, but cites initiatives by peer cities to grow their tech industries as a roadmap that Council could follow.

You can view the presentation starting on page 43 of this packet.

The Budget, Finance, and Economic Development Committee meeting will be Tuesday, January 30th at 1pm in Council Chambers. You can attend in-person or watch live on LexTV.
