Lt. Governor Coleman announces $2.2 million for cleaner water, hazardous waste cleanup in Lee County

Lieutenant Governor Coleman made the announcement in the recently refurbished Beattyville Town Square.
According to a news release from the governor’s office, nearly $1.3 million will be used to rehabilitate three water storage tanks in the city.

$449,000 from the state’s Cleaner Water Fund will pay for water tank rehabilitation and other improvements at the city’s water treatment plant.

Another $500,000 will go towards removing hazardous materials like asbestos and lead-based paint from a city-owned building.
