The Mercer County Coroner’s office has identified a woman killed during last weekend’s severe thunderstorms.

She was identified as 67-year-old Julie Sterling from Harrodsburg.

The coroner’s office says Sterling died from injuries after a tree fell into her bedroom early Monday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sterling’s husband also received minor injuries, but is expected to recover.

Five deaths caused by the storms have been confirmed by Governor Andy Beshear through his regular news conference and social media posts. The other four deaths were reported from across western Kentucky.
