Perry County school receives aid from FEMA for flood restoration

More than one million dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is going to the Perry County Board of Education to help its schools rebuild from the 2022 floods.

The money will be going to Buckhorn School to help restore its interior.

Buckhorn is a K-12 school that serves around 350 students, according to its website. More than six feet of flood waters damaged the school two years ago.

FEMA says the money will be used to replace furnishings, schoolbooks, computers and other supplies that were damaged by the flood.
