Alltech donates another $100K to central Kentucky nonprofit that helps domestic violence survivors

Alltech has donated another $100,000 to a central Kentucky advocacy group and emergency shelter. It’s the second consecutive year the company has given to Greenhouse 17, which offers domestic violence services in 17 counties. Darlene Thomas is the nonprofit’s executive director. She said Alltech’s contributions help them help their clients.
“We provide a host of services from crisis intervention, which includes a crisis line and an emergency shelter, all the way through stabilization, which might mean somebody helping you in court, court accompaniment, court support, legal support.”
Thomas said Greenhouse 17 also helps with finances, child visitation and counseling to survivors as they figure out the next steps for themselves and their children.
“And what I find about Alltech is they’re a company who very much has supported us. Really believes in the opportunities that we’re attempting to provide survivors and their children.”
Thomas said in addition to the financial donations, many Alltech employees have volunteered at Greenhouse 17 – and helped with their business model for products handmade by survivors.
