The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect from a shooting that occurred on West Short Street last month.
On August 29, 2025, around 2:12 am, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Short St for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with reported non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Jonathan Streete, 29. Streete currently has active warrants for Assault 1st Degree and five counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
If located, the public should not approach him and call local law enforcement.
