High friction surface treatment
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 11, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this news release serves as an update. Lane closures are necessary for high friction surface treatment to be applied.
High friction surface treatments (HFST) are pavement safety applications which assist to reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. The application is especially important during wet roadway conditions.
Saturday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 12 – currently and until 7 a.m. Sunday
Interstate 75 – Southbound
- the right/slow lane is closed between milepoints 111 – 109.8
- one lane on the Off Ramp to US 60 is closed
All work and/or closures are subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties
