One person has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred in September on Devonport Drive.
On September 28, 2025, around 9:40 pm, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Devonport Drive for a shooting with a victim. When they arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries. Vehicles in the area also sustained damage from gunfire.
On October 15, 2025, Johnte Woods, 23, was charged with Assault 1st Degree and three counts of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree in connection with the shooting. Mr. Woods has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine)1st Degree and Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm) from an arrest on October 10, 2025. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
