Every holiday season, the men and women of the Lexington Fire Department come together for one mission that goes beyond emergency response, bringing joy and hope to families across our community through the Lexington Firefighters Toy Program.
“To make the Firefighters Toy Program work, our firefighters go above and beyond each year,” Mayor Linda Gorton said. “Our firefighters volunteer their time to reach out and encourage the community to give, and then to make sure the toys are ready for Christmas morning.”
The Fraternal Order of Firefighters plays a leading role in organizing the annual effort. “It’s an incredible honor to be part of a program that brings joy and hope to families while strengthening the bond within our department,” said Lt. Chris MacFarlane, President of the Fraternal Order of Firefighters. “This tradition reminds us what service truly means, helping our neighbors and each other.”
Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at any Lexington Fire Station now through December 18th. Items collected will be distributed to local families in time for Christmas.
