Traffic pattern changes for
Richmond, Madison County
City of Richmond Christmas Parade
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 2, 2025) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of traffic changes scheduled for Richmond, Madison County. Temporary adjustments will be necessary for the City of Richmond’s Christmas Parade happening at 7:00pm on Friday, December 5, 2025. The Richmond Police Department will be assisting with traffic.
Friday, Dec. 5 – the following will be closed from 5:00 p.m. until approximately 8:00 p.m.
- Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 from Eastern Bypass to Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510)
- Main Street/US 25X (MP 1.510) from Lancaster Avenue/KY 52 (MP 1.780) to South Collins Street (a city route)
- South Collins Street to Summit Street (a city route)
- North First Street (a city route) at Main Street/US25X to South First Street (a city route) at Water Street (a city route)
- Second Street (a city route) from W Irvine Street (a city route) to Water Street
- Third Street (a city route) from W Irvine Street to Water Street
- Madison Avenue (a city route) from Main Street/US25X to Water Street
Motorists should expect and plan for delays — heavy traffic is expected.
All work, and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
District 7 includes: Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
