The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide after a fatal shooting that occurred late this afternoon.
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, around 4:05 pm, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Versailles Road for a shooting with a victim. When officers arrived, they located a male victim who had been shot in a parking lot. Officers and Emergency Care personnel rendered aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the decedent.
