One person is in custody following an assault that occurred last month on W Seventh Street.
On March 29, 2026, around 11:00 pm, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of N Broadway for a victim who had been stabbed. When officers arrived, they learned that the victim had left a nearby gas station when they were followed by an individual. The two were engaged in a verbal confrontation before the suspect brandished a knife. The victim tried to leave and was stabbed by the suspect in the area of W Seventh Street and Elsmere Alley. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for reported non-life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, detectives learned that the same suspect also robbed the Speedway on N Broadway. The suspect was identified as Glenn Doneghy, age 49. Glenn Doneghy was arrested on April 7, 2026, and charged with Assault 1st Degree and Robbery 2nd Degree. He is currently being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.
