The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide and a shooting that occurred this evening on South Broadway.
On January 1, 2026, around 6:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Virginia Avenue for a shooting with a victim. When they arrived, they located three male victims who had been shot in a parking lot in the 1000 block of South Broadway. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other two victims were transported to a local hospital with reported life-threatening injuries.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the decedent’s name.
