Monday, October 5th is the last day to register to vote in Kentucky before the November election! There are a few different ways to register:
Online registration must be completed by 4 p.m. on Monday, and you can do so through this link.
You can also register by printing out and completing this mail-in registration form. Just make sure it’s mailed and postmarked by October 5th.
To register in-person, visit the County Clerk’s Office and submit your registration there.
Registered voters can check their registration status by using govote.ky.gov.
The State Board of Elections website explains that you must meet the following requirements in order to register:
- Be a U.S. citizen and a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days prior to the election
- Be at least 18 years old by the November 3rd General Election (you can register while you are 17 years old if you will turn 18 by November 3rd)
- Not be a convicted felon (unless your right to vote has been restored following an expungement, Executive Pardon, or Executive Order)
- Not have been judged mentally incompetent in a court of law
- Not claim the right to vote outside of Kentucky
College students are able to register to vote using their dorm address. According to the U.S. Vote Foundation, if you are a college student and do not have a Kentucky-issued ID, you can use your university-issued ID at the polls.
